How to make porridge with a twist (of pink)

I know that winter has almost come to an end, but I am not ready to say goodbye to porridge’s for breakfast yet!

My mum taught me how to make porridge at a very young age and now that I am much older I am loving to have a variety of types of ways to make porridge and different toppings for breakfast as well.

One of my favourites at the moment was learning how to make pink porridge from Talia Cecchele Nutrition. I start work so early in the AM and without a good breakfast I don’t make it through the day. This isn’t just full with all supplements that I need but it keeps me full till lunch – WINNING.

Steps: How to make porridge (with a twist of pink)


  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2 heaped tbs Greek yoghurt or kefir
  • 1 tbs coconut flakes
  • 2 tsp mixed roasted seeds


  1. Heat a small pot over medium heat and add coconut oil
  2. Cook banana rounds for 1 minute on each side until brown, set aside
  3. Using the same pot, add oats, berries and milk, Stir for 2-3 minutes until creamy
  4. Pour into a bowl and use remaining ingredients as toppings

Serves 1

Tip – If you are not normally a morning person, I also get the ingredients all ready to go the night before to make it even faster the next day and you can enjoy the extra 10 minutes of sleep before the alarm goes off.

This is also a great go to breakfast if you are watching costs of food as these ingredients will last you for multipl breakfasts!
